Bolivian Duo
Johnny Gonzales, one of a kind pianist, Jazz pioneer of
Bolivia. Fernando Sanjines 13, Andean/Brazilian drummer,
percussionist, innovator. Together they are part of the legendary
Bolivian recording "Jazz a 4000 metros de altura".
The duo had three well received performances at La Peña
in Berkeley and Peña Pachamama in North Beach on July 2005.

Samba do Coração in Shanghai, CHINA.

Samba do Coração Performing Company, has participated
with great success in the seven day out door Shanghai International
Music Carnival on Chinese Labor Day Holidays in the area of Pudong
Shanghai, Republic of China, from April 27th to May 9th, 2005.

On Thursday, November 18th, 2004,
Samba do Coração Performing Company was part of
a very significant event: The presentation of the book
"Voices of Latin Rock" by Jim McCarthy with Ron Sansoe,
foreword by Carlos Santana.
The event was at Bimbo's Night Club in San Francisco.
This great reunion brought together original members of
Santana's band: Gregg Rollie, Mike Carabello, Jose Chepito Areas,
Mike Shrieve and Neal Schon on guitar.
Many of the original members of the great band "MALO"
performed too. The legendary singer of the band "COLD BLOOD"
"Lydia Pense" was part of the event, as well as
John Santos, Carl Perazo and the group "LOS MOCOSOS".
Jesse Chuy Varela was the M.C. of the night.
Samba do Coração Performing Company opened the show.
At the end of the night, Michael Shrieve quoted "It was a Magic Night".
We highly recomend the book, that talks about the origin of
Latin Rock movement in the S.F. Mission District. The Malibus, The Alliens
Malo, Santana and all the great congeros and timbaleros that
used to play in the streets and Dolores and Aquatic Parks.
We are pretty sure the book is available in book stores world wide.
