Come join our fun & supportive group of dancers. We’ll be dancing to the same routines and songs we learned for Carnaval, just adding a bit of a twist and refinement for the stage.
Included in the "SIZZLING SUMMER SAMBA DANCE PKG":
* Two Sunday workshops, June 12th & 19th, 5-7pm at the Mary Sano Dance Studio, 245 5th St (between Folsom & Howard), SF with Artistic Director of Samba do Coraçao (Brazilian Samba Master Teacher & Award Winning Choreographer) Mary Dollar
* One additional rehearsal (date/time TBA)
* Learning 1-2 original dances from the Samba do Coraçao 2011 parade choreography
* Rental of a professionally made Samba costume
* Dancing in the Live Concert with Samba do Coraçao & Liza Silva, Voz do Brazil Band on June 25th at The Dance Palace in Point Reyes
* Accompaniment of live music with Liza Silva (Brazilian Vocalist), Voz do Brasil band.
* Improving your dance style and technique, learning from a seasoned professional, Mary Dollar (with over 20 years of teaching experience) in a fun and supportive environment
* Dazzling your friends and family with your lively samba dancing!

“Sizzling Samba Special”:
$125 (pd in full by first rehearsal on Sunday, Jun 12th)
“Payment Plan Special”:
$150 (two payments of $75 each, payable by Sun, Jun 12th & Sun, Jun 19th)

Mary Dollar, Artistic Director of Samba do Coraçao, Dance and Drumming Brazil Cultural Ensemble, with over 20 years of professional dancing and teaching experience, has studied with master teachers in Brazil and USA and has performed nationally and internationally. She has received numerous awards over the years for her choreography, visuals and costume design, including the "Special Achievement Award" in 2002 for her community service/contributions to the SF Carnaval. Last year, she was invited to serve as "Artistic Director" of Carnaval SF 2010.
Liza Silva, Voz do Brazil, Vocalist from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has dedicated herself to performing the traditional music of the Brazilian repertoire ( Samba, Bossa Nova, Afro-Samba, Forro, Samba-Pagode, Samba-Reggae, Lambada and Carnaval Styles) and presenting to American and International audiences. Liza is among the most authentic local female representatives of this great variety of Brazilian musical styles. Liza has been working and collaborating with Samba do Coraçao since the late 90's.
